Its Summer And The Fishing Is Easy

Today started slowly with quite a few bream, and gradually got better. There is still a cold wind which is uncomfortable to sit in, and it looks likely to taint the whole summer. The coldest winter in 50 years means that the North Sea is well below its normal temperature, meaning easterly winds are very chilly for this time of year.

Probably My Best Result Ever

Today started off very slowly:in fact I had a feeling it was going to be rubbish as it was very bright with a cold wind (as usual this year), and there was absolutely no sign of carp activity. I moved from my first swim, mainly to get comfortable and be out of the howling wind (at least 15-20 mph).

Things Are Now Hotting Up At Last

Today at Bromswell Lakes the sky was pure blue and the wind was light. It is still fairly cool, but I managed to get away with just wearing a fleece and thermal trousers - no wooly hat needed ! I arrived about lunch time and went to the far side of the lake for a change.

With enormous personal sacrifice and strength of character I got up at 5.am Saturday morning to go to Bromswell Lakes, as I was due to go out to Sproughton Beer Festival in the evening, and wanted to get in a decent days fishing first.

So Many Takes But Only Three Fish Landed

Today at Bromswell Lakes was awesome and frustrating at the same time. My tackle, specifically my hook lengths and hooks, let me down badly, and I was snapped many times, and even had my hook bent straight.

Bank Holiday Fishing Trip

I was really looking forward to today, thinking it was going to be nice and warm, but the wind was bitterly cold, and as usual I was covered from head to toe in thermal clothing.
