Today was one of those rare days when everything comes together to conspire to make a great fishing trip. Nice and sunny, and with literally no one else at Marsh Farm, I was in my element and feeling lucky.
My last day in the log cabin, and the weather was sunny and warm, for a change. After a few hours (fruitless) fishing outside the cabin, I decided to go to the "runs" water, Two Pole Lake, and almost immediately caught a small carp.
Today I was stalking on the small over grown back lake called The S Pit. It was beautiful, sheltered and good fun. It was blowing a gale, and luckily this place was just about fishable with float set up.
Well, I arrived at 10.30 am, after getting lost due the Sat Nav completely going crazy and trying to direct me into someone's back yard. The place was amazing, and I immediately went for a walk around the place to check it out.
I had high hopes for today, and though a bit quiet at times, and therefore a bit boring, it was still quite a good fishing trip. I lost a big carp because of a badly tied knot, which is always annoying, but caught three more, luckily.
Marauding ducks, pesky skimmers nibbling at my bait, a persistent cold wind, and a large carp lost in the snags, all combined to make this a frustrating and not particularly enjoyable fishing trip.
