I went to my favourite spot to keep out of the cold wind, and almost immediately got one on the ledger. Then it went quiet for several hours, apart from a large thunderstorm, the bivvi being a life saver. It threw it down, killing all fishing for half an hour. But almost immediately after it stopped raining, it went very quiet with no wind, and the carp came out to play.
There is no where I would rather be on a quiet spring evening, with still water glinting in the last rays of light, than at a fishing lake.
Anyway, i caught a nice fat, spawn filled female common, and she plodded around, telling me I had a big fish on.
Then a few minutes later I had another, smaller, fish, and then that was that for the evening.
