I decided to try Bake Lakes at long last. First impressions were mixed. It is a bit run down and scruffy in places, but the lake I fished on was called Treasure Island, and it had beautiful lily pads and reeds.
It's funny, but when you go fishing you get a feel for how well you are going to do. I just had a hunch I wouldn't catch anything, and I was right I blanked. I still enjoyed myself though, playing with my new gadgets.
Love my new fishing reel and rod, the most expensive I have ever owned. But you can feel the quality. Not much to talk about really, apart from my packed lunch was great. I've got to decide if I want to go back to Bake Lakes, and I'm not sure I will.
