It was freezing and grey all day. Welcome to the British summer. I arrived at about 1pm and went to my favourite swim of the moment, at the back of the lake by the island.
Bream are a particular problem at the moment, and next week I think I will have to double up the boilies. The spot that I caught the 20 pounder delivered as usual. Ten minutes there and I had a nice 12lb carp, which nearly took my arm off trying to get back under the tree.
I helped a man land his carp, as his wife couldnt put up their specimen landing net. He was well chuffed, and estimated the carp at 18lbs, but I thought it looked about 14 max, which makes me wonder if I always underestimate my catches. I need to get a new set of scales as I think they are inaccurate.
