Finally got off my arse and drove up to Hawkstead, just to the south west of Bury St Edmunds. I stopped off at Creeting Lakes and Blue Water Lake, and they seemed quite nice places to fish.
It was super humid and uncomfortable all day, increasing towards the evening. The lake was smaller than I expected and surrounded by trees and reeds. There was no wind, and little in the way of fish activity, I am not surprised by this because there was no oxygen, I felt heavy breathed, so I can imagine that the water was stagnant.
Anyway, I set up and immediately found out that the margins are not that suitable for float fishing or stalking, as they were too shallow. I had no bites all day, and got the beginnings of heat exhaustion.
I might go back one day, as the it would be unfair to judge it on today's basis, because the weather was so extreme.
